‘Booster Gold’ Won’t Be Part of DCEU

Greg Berlanti has been the mastermind behind creating the DC TV universe (Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and now Supergirl), but has previously confirmed his involvement with the Booster Gold movie. Such a project would certainly be a change of pace for the DCEU. However, it turns out that when the Booster Gold film does come out, it will exist outside of DC’s cinema universe.

Berlanti was interviewed by Vulture and was asked about the progress on Booster Gold and his response is not likely to sit well with fans waiting to Booster Gold to share some screentime with other members of the Justice League. He confirms that as of this moment, his movie is not connected to the DCEU:

“As of right now we have no connective tissue to those worlds… It’d be a separate thing.”

But there is still plenty of time to change this. Zack Stentz (Thor) only started working on the script this summer and there are hardly any open release dates for DC movies until 2021. If it does become part of the DCEU, it’s hard to imagine the studio pushing this ahead of The Batman or  Man of Steel 2.
