Samuel L. Jackson Thinks Mace Windu Is Still Alive

Mace Windu is a pretty awful character. He’s basically Samuel L. Jackson living out a personal fantasy of being in a Star Wars movie, he has no personality other than being Samuel L. Jackson, and he’s also responsible for the final push of Anakin over to the Dark Side. If Mace Windu hadn’t hypocritically asked for Anakin to kill Palpatine, Anakin may have stayed on the Light Side.

But Jackson believes that Windu lives. Answering a fan question online [via EW], Jackson said that while it was George Lucas’ decision to kill off Mace, there’s no reason that the character couldn’t have survived the fall.

And Jackson isn’t the only person who thinks that Mace survived. Leave it to George Lucas to continue to troll fans:

Has the actor shared his views with the creative forces behind the Star Wars franchise? “Only George [Lucas],” says Jackson. “But George doesn’t have anything to do with it anymore.” And what was Lucas’ reaction? “George is like, ‘I’m okay with that. You can be alive.”

You can actually feel George Lucas not giving a shit. What do you think? Please share and leave a comment!
