Spoiler Warning!
Kit Harington has returned back to the world of the living in Westeros, and since relinquishing his duties as Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch he’s ready to take back his home. With his stepsister Sansa (Sophie Turner), he’s been wrangling together as many fighters as he can. For better or worse, he’ll now face Ramsay (Iwan Rheon) with everything he’s got.
The new photos show more of the massive episode, including the Wilding’s giant and spokesman Tormund (Kristofer Hivju) in the heat of battle, as well as Ramsay and Sansa in an eye-to-eye-showdown.
Written by Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, “The Battle of the Bastards” is directed by Miguel Sapochnik. He helmed last season’s “Hardhome,” which saw that massive battle with the Whitewalkers and the Night King, which is not a bad sign I guess.
Sunday’s episode has a one hour runtime and is the second to last episode of season 6. June 26th will wrap things up with an hour-and-a-half-long finale, the longest in the series’ history, titled “The Winds of Winter,” which takes its name from that Game of Thrones book author George R.R. Martin has been working on for, like, ever
Are you excited for the ‘Battle of the Bastards’? Then give me a Tormund roar in the comments!
About time they show some action! This season has just been dragging on. I really hope Ramsey does not win, though considering audience rooting for Jon should totally mean that Ramsey will beat him. I am so worried for Tormund, have a bad feeling about him living beyond the next episode. Having said that, 1.5 hr long finale?! Woah!
