In an interesting turn yesterday, Paramount may have found a pair of directors for its planned-but-currently-unscheduled Beverly Hills Cop 4. The film had previously been set to debut in March of this year before it was pulled from the studio’s calendar just a little over a year ago. Brett Ratner had been attached to direct, but apparently that arrangement has fallen through.
Deadline reports that directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will be at the helm for Beverly Hills Cop 4, which will see Murphy return to the role of Axel Foley. El Arbi and Fallah are known for their crime drama Black, which won TIFF’s Discovery Award last year.
It seems as if the Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec script is still intact, though as of January of last year, the creative team was still trying to get it right. Murphy has already said that he won’t be doing the film “unless they have a really incredible script.”
